Air compressor leak.

A friend gave me his old craftsman direct drive air compressor after he upgraded. I was checking it out and found a leak in the thread of the plug where the check valve is... Not on the check valve thread itself.

I tried getting the plug out so I could add some Teflon, but that plug isn't coming out :/

Given that it is at the threads of the plug, I don't believe the tank is compromised. I would like to hear what others think.

The only solutions I can think of are to try some jb weld on it, or try to find someone with an actual welder to lay a bead around it.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

spray it with your favorite lubricant and tap the sides with a hammer to "shock" it and then try,try again.

Not good solutions. Try a little heat to the fitting and a big wrench or socket. It WILL come off. You aren't trying hard enough yet.
