Air Compressor motor is bogging down.....could it be the running CAP?

My kobalt 60 gallon compressor starts runs and pumps fine. BUT midway through a pumping cycle, you can hear the motor slow down and begin to labor....

Is it the running capacitor???? What should the readings be on it when you check it, inifinity like a start cap??

Do you have a tester that test capacitance? Read the MFD on the cap and test, if lower by 20% then the cap is bad. If lower by 10% it's on it's way out.

Is it the pump or motor slowing down? Normally you can't hear the motor, only the pump. First thing I'd do is check the tension on the belts. If they are glazed, they've been slipping. Get new ones if they are. They can slip w/o being damaged too.

Well the pump slows down, which is what you notice but it is the whole thing slowing.

I popped both caps off, and the start cap actually appears to have some corrosion/leakage around it. White powdery stuff.

All i have is a pretty basic multimeter that doesnt test capacitance.

At this point just replace them instead of having it fail in the middle of a project.
