Air Compressor Motor Mount Help?

So I've been working on this compressor off and on for years and one thing that is making me pull my hair out is this, I cannot find anything to replace these mounts with new ones.

These came off an old Devilbiss unit from decades ago, one of them has a crack in it so I want to replace them with the same kind of thing.

I've looked into motor mounts but no luck, nothing will fit both my motor and also mount to the slide rails on the compressor tank.

These seem pretty universal so I don't know why they don't seem to exist

I have looked everywhere online and have no idea, I have found something similar called a Z channel that look close but If anyone know where I can find something like this I would be ecstatic.

I'll give you a bit of background on my unit, it's a 60-70 gallon cast iron tank 200 PSI, a Brook T182 3HP 1 Phase 240V motor with an old curtis two stage, 3 inch bore, 3 inch stroke with a 1 7/8" HP piston, It makes about 9.5-12 CFM at 800 RPM.

It's old but still in working order I have used it for a few years after restoring it from the sad state it was in before.

I have thought about brazing the crack, or welding but I do not have a welder and I am not sure my propane torch can handle brazing that thick of steel.

If anyone can help again I would be so grateful.

Cut some 1/8" strap stock that is the same width and sandwich the mount with a piece top and bottom. Would have to add one to the top of the other side to maintain level.

It's just Z-channel with slots machined in it. Get some z-channel stock, drill holes, done. There's nothing magic about these brackets. They're frankly kind of a kludge to allow the use of a motor frame that doesn't match the mount on the tank.

Alternately, take the cracked one to a welding shop. Brazing won't be strong enough, and a propane torch is nowhere near hot enough.

Yeah it's not the best solution but you have to remember some these things are over 50 years old in decent shape, it may have been common back in the 50-60's when the tank was made but I have no idea.

do you happen to know where I might look for Z Channel? I've been looking online with limited success for a few years. I'm up in Canada where things are hard to find for some reason.

If everything fails, I'll take it too a welding shop or buy a cheap Stick welder and fix it myself, but that's only if I just cannot replace it.

I agree that brazing is not the best option though and I have decided welding is the way to go if possible.

Unfortunately I can't help with availability in Canada. Here I'd just order something from one of the on-line metal suppliers.
