I'm thinking of installing my 80-gallon compressor outside of my shop.
Thing is, I live in Oregon. It's rainy or generally wet 75% of the time. I don't want the thing to get all rusty and nasty due to ambient moisture.
The shop has a 4-foot overhang along the front, with a paved walk under that entire overhang (concrete).
My thought was to build an enclosure around it, and I'm debating how far I need to go with said enclosure.
Debating about insulating it, because we've had a couple of unusually cold winters in the past couple of years - this past one being cold enough to freeze/bust my well pump.
It would be vented, of course, so it doesn't get/stay overly warm inside of the enclosure.
Anyone doing something like this? Got any pictures of your setup?
For cooling, I was thinking about one of those copper pipe "radiator" style jobs that I've seen here - basically, something like this:
Only, in my case, I'd be running it vertically, maybe 4" spacing between pipes, and attached to the outside of this hypothetical enclosure, before transitioning to black pipe inside the shop, with the requisite filters, drip legs, etc.
The shop isn't insulated, so I think the "radiator" would be better outside, as it'd remain cooler out there.
Thoughts?
