I bought a old air compressor off Market place for $150 and planning to rebuild it , there's about three things on it that I can't figure out what they are
#1 about 3 inches to the right of the psi gauge there's another gold thing that is screwed into the tank and it leaks some air , what is this ?

#2 there a thing that looks like a bolt that sticks out of the air compressor pump , what is this ?

#3 there's another thing sticking out of the pump near the top , what is this ?
Thanks

1. Tank outlet; you can plug it since it appears you have two.
2. Oil drain; looks like someone extended it out.
3. Don't know - perhaps an overpressure relief valve. It looks pretty odd to me to be on that pump outlet.

That pump doesn't look original to me, FWIW.

Also , how do I know how much oil to put into the air compressor pump ?
I don't see no sight glass or dip stick

#1 might have been an overpressure relief , # 2 appears to be a bastardized oil drain , and number 3 looks like an overpressure relief
I would put a 150# pressure relief in the tank fitting, leave the second one in the pressure line if it's not leaking

I agree about #2. It looks like it's where the site glass was. The actual drain is the hex head bolt below it.

Also agree about #1. It might be a broken off pressure relief. I don't see one anywhere else.

Edit, I see the pressure relief on the outlet that Cobbler pointed out.

I was thinking that what ever was screwed into #1 got broken off and now is leaking .
I haven't refurbished the Honda motor or air compressor pump yet , I'm going to confirm everything works first , the Honda engine seems to start and run awesome but I couldn't get the pump to build pressure but I think that might be due to the gold thing that is screwed into the #1 location is leaking air.
I'm going to repaint the red Honda engine cover and buy a new red Honda starter rope recoil assembly

I was thinking a sight glass should be where the black block off plate thing is , I'm referring to the block off plate that is held in place by 4 allen bolts

I doubt that unit ever had a sight glass. More likely, that oddball bolt is where a filler plug should be. If it had a sight glass, you should be able to find a fill point elsewhere. If not, just add oil to the bottom of that hole.

It was a sight glass. That's an American Imc T29/B4900 pump. They are very common and you should be able to find parts diagrams online.

I was thinking the same thing but then I found this fill spot

I was talking to the salesman at Northern Tool about getting a 150# pressure relief and he asked me wether I had a dual stage pump or single stage , I'm not sure what I have but I think it's a dual stage even though it looks like a single stage , I told him I had a dual stage and then he pointed out that I needed the higher psi pressure relief and then I remembered someone recommended me getting a 150 # psi relief and so I wasn't sure which one to buy and so I postponed purchase for now .
So do I have a single stage or dual stage ?
And which psi relief would be best ?

Model 1095-150
Has a pop-off pressure of 150 PSI. These valves are not for use on compressors with a capacity over 15 CFM, 3 HP or 12 gallon storage

They have another model that is supposed to be used with compressors that have a psi of 175 psi if I recall correctly what the sales man said " for dual stage compressor pump"
Thanks
