I have a Craftsman 26 gallon compressor, model # 16770. This guy:

The drive belt has shreaded. I found it on Sears Parts Direct. $30.00 + shipping.

Here is what I would like to know. Is there another place to source this part from. I would like to upgrade to a little thicker belt. This one didn't seem to last as long as I would have liked.

This should be a standard J6 micro-rib belt (serpentine)

If you can figure out the length, then you can get a name brand one like Gates

If you google the 2 part numbers listed, you will find a reasonable price

You will not find a thicker belt

I measured and the old one seems to be right at 30".

A couple of years ago I used a rope to measure for a belt for my 30+ compressor and ordered a belt.

You could also take it down to NAPA and see if they have something that will match up.
