sharkbite quick connect pipe fittings , has anyone used them? just contacted MFR. and they say the fittings are good up to 200 psi, as long as no oil is in line...

I have used 2 of them. I have temporarily used some pex to hook my new compressor into my old line system in my present garage. I will be moving the new compressor to its new home in a few months and did not want to do rigid. I used them at the tank and at the old line system with pex inbetween. They have worked well and have not leaked. I do shutoff the pressure at the tank when I am not using it.

I have never used them for air, but have done water pipe repair with them in FL. They seem to work fine joining a pex patch to copper at each end.
Fast, clean, and a whole lot easier than a torch and solder up in a celing soffit when the new RO water system the city put in starts eating all the copper pipes in town.
They have a pretty good grip on the OH ring the use. I can see them good for 200 PSI as long as there is nothing in the pipe that would rot the rubber. . Just be sure the outside surface of your pipe is clean and dry.

There was a post on here recently about using them. I haven't used them yet, but can see certain applications for them - especially since the pipes can still rotate in the fitting and maintain sealing.
