Seen this kit from harbor freight Item No. 66747-1VGA . Looks kinda like the garage pack stuff but only $89.00? What do you guys think looking at doing something but may sell the house in the near future and dont really want to hard plumb copper.

I don't know of anyone here who has used it. I am thinking about giving it a shot when I run some airlines in my basement workshop...

The only reason I would run hard lines over hose would be if the hard line was a lot larger than the hose. 3/8 hose or 3/8 hard line is going to supply the same amout of air.

If you double the size of the hose you have 4 times the storage. At work we ran 1" hard lines to the sand blaster to provide more air.

Hard lines act as a heat sink and help cool the air before it gets to your tools. Once the air is cool, the water that is in your air condenses and can be drained off.

My quick thoughts are to just run hose for now if you have any inkling of selling in the near future...there are so many other things you'll be involved in regarding punchlist and the sale and moving. I was halfway thru a copper system when I sold that particular house and had to take it all out...it was surface-mounted and it didn't goto waste...but was a lot of work for nothing. 'Course I'm glad I have a big pile of 1/2" copper that I don't have to go and buy now!

For those still interested this kit appears to be a rapid air kit branded for harbor freight. Price looks good as direct from rapid air or any other retailer that carries it the price is 139.00 and you get less fittings.

Go to any sport truck magazine and check out the air ride/air bag
retailers that list specific compression fitting and hose components. Make your own "garage kit" for 1/2 price
