Okay, so hears the story. Bought this on a deal.
got 50ft of a pvc hose, internal bore is 1/4 maybe a bit more? those 3/8 barb fitting has a extremely tough time going into the hose. I know this because i cut the hose hoping it would solve the problem into two 25 feet runs.

my problem is the air compressor doesn't properly run my impact guns, Now i tried the gun on a shop air supply, worked pretty okay, but works sometimes. Sometimes its extremely low on power. Compressor Sprays paint excellent with the hose, runs die grinders but no impacts. Its one of those Generic units that comes free with the air compressor.

i even bypassed the built in regulator and got a direct connection to the tank.

you think its a situation with a small compressor, small air hose or poor quality impact?

with the impact, it hammers slowly and uses quite a bit of air, the die grinders not so much, paints fine.

if your pressure is high enough the 1/4" hose should not be all that much of a problem. I removed tandem trailer wheels with my impact & 100' of 1/4 hose and 50' 3/8 off that . it wasn't as quick as entire run of 3/8 or 1/2 would be but it did the job.
you say on the shop air it works OK sometimes?
my suspicion is low end impact, low power & inefficient air use

I've got a 1/4" hose for air in the shop at work. Runs everything except a 1/2" Dr impact. Boss tells me it's enough. It not!!
