Hello, I acquired a CH VS4011 compressor recently and ha e been testing it out to check functionality of everything.
The unit has a 2hp single phase motor and a single cylinder splash oiled belt driven pump. The issue I'm having is it'll run ok for a bit then seize up... And just Humm. At first I can't even rotate the flywheel, then after a min or two the flywheel loosens up and is free again. The oil level is good and since it will run fine for a bit and the flywheel won't turn once it stops it makes me think it's the pump?
The compressor was free to me and things considering, its a discontinued compressor and from what I can tell discontinued compressor pump too so, parts to rebuild the pump if need be may be hard to come by. I'll pull apart the pump regardless to check it out just wanted to see what you guys thought...
