Picked up an old ACME air compressor. Don't know
the HP of the motor. It is an oil compressor with
a 10 gallon tank. Paint is pealing, placards are covered
by crud and hard to read. It is hard wired as the pressure on/off
regulator is broken. My question to start is..Are these
high/low shut off/on units universal and what are they
called exactly? I plan on posting pics of the rebuild. It
works great and holds pressure. Best part...paid only $20.
with extra motor and 25 feet of air hose.

Man, do not use that damn thing without a pressure switch, is the pop off still on it?

The pressure switch depends on what the tank is rated for, besides that they are not specific to any compressor. You need to find the plate on the tank that lists the maximum working pressure.

It still has a pressure gauge and I only took it up to
90 psi and then unplugged it. Now I am starting
the rebuild. Thanks for the info.
