air compressor recommendation

Moving to a new-built home in June... will have a very small two car garage (less than 19' long and wide) but will want to install a hose reel and air compressor for airing my car tires and the occasional small paint project (I'll make a take-down spray booth out of PVC and plastic sheeting).

I'm having a hell of a time choosing an air compressor. Seems no one makes a wall mount unit anymore. Some designs COULD be wall mounted, I guess... but I don't mind spending a bit more for Made in USA product. And that goes for the hose fittings. I see many complaints online about Chinese made fittings that leak.

So can anyone recommend an unimpeachable air compressor that I might be able to mount (or make a shelf for, so it would need to be more vertical than horizontal). And recommend a resource for brass air hose fittings made in USA. For the compressor I'd like to keep it under $200.

Thanks!

That budget won't get you much!! You'll have to be scouring CL for a real bargain for something like 20 gallon single stage oil splash like Craftsman, Coleman Pro series, CH, Husky, etc. I'd recommend horizontal for your small space and just bolt some 2x4's to studs and build yourself a shelf up off the ground (ie in corner of garage) w/ another 2x4 at angle bolted to studs. Then run a short hose over to middle of garage where you install the hose reel so it will reach everywhere.

Use Google for your CL Searching to find pricing and brands (even if they are too far away . . . .at least you'll learn what's out there):

Here's a 120v - - - 20 gallon / 135 psi / 5.5 CFM @ 90 psi CH for $170
