I have a Campbell Hausfield VS5006, 20 gallon, that I got from a friend.

It's been pretty leaky, and a neighbor who borrowed it this this evening said it seized after 5 minutes running. It started up fine for me an hour later, but if I can give it some tlc and get another year out of it, it will be worth it.

I didn't see any repair kits on the CH site, not sure if there's anything more than a few o-rings and gaskets to it.

Should I look for a repair kit, or is there a particular part that needs resealing with permatex, something else???

Seized and leaky are unrelated events.

What do you mean by seized? Like it shut off abruptly? The thermal switch on the motor tripped off?

Leaks just mean it leaks air out any number of fittings.

Generally you can fix "leaks" easily, but if the pump is seizing up, generally at this price range you just dump the whole thing and buy another on Craigslist. They are readily available so they aren't worth fixing "seized".

If your tank is solid, you could even get one with a pin hole on Craigslist and mix and match parts. I see these all the time for $70-150 where I live.
