I have been using my cheap IR Edge Air Hammer more and more and I think its time to upgrade. Looking on the site it seems like the Snap-On PH3050B is the way to go if you want to spend a ton a money and the IR 118Max is a very close second and has a much better price point.
Right now I have a small Craftsman horizontal air compressor with the following specs:
150 max psi
6 HP (Max)
33 Gal.
7.8 SCFM @ 40 psi
5.5 SCFm @ 90 psi
Model: 919.724590
Will I be happy with the performance of with the Snap-on or IR air hammer using the current compressor I have? I currently using this setup with my MG725 and MG325 impact wrenches and so far when have been working well.
From the crompressor I have 75 ft. of 1/2 black pipe which feeds a 3/8" hose on a hose reel. My line pressure is around 140 psi so I get a measured working pressure of 90 psi.
