Air Compressor wiring.

My wife bought me an air compressor for Christmas and it came sans plug.

It is a Sanborn model # L3706056 with a 240 v / 15 amp / 1 phase motor.

I have an outlet in the garage already for the welder.

The location it is placed in is about 25' from said welder outlet.

Some advice on how to wire this would be much appreciated.

ETA: I did try to search here and on the internet in general for awhile but found no specific answer for this compressor as to where to attach the wires to the pressure control switch.
(I assume this where to attach them)

The diagram for mine was under the "lid" to the pressure switch. Is there an electrical schematic available on-line? Is there a part number somewhere on the pressure switch?

There was not a diagram under the lid. I did look online but couldn't find it.

The lines connect at the pressure switch.

If you want 220V a buck/boost transformer is required to buck 240V down to approx 220V. :D:D:D:D

Get you a #12-3 cord the length you need to go to the welding outlet. Hook up the Black and White wire to the two separate blades on the top of the pressure switch, one wire on each blade, hook the green to the green screw or the littles screw with the ground emblem on it. Installed the welding plug on the cord as per instruction sheet. If you do not know anything about electricty, hire a electrician. You life is worth more, should take him only an hour at the most. You do not need any transformers for the motor has a rangwe of 208 to 240 volts A/C

That motor is most likely a 230V motor only, so it would not like 208V long term,but that really is not relevent as 208V is not normally supplied to a single family residence, BTW I was being sarcastic as "220" is a ignorant term in the US as it no longer exists as a utility supplied voltage.

Why is the motor likely 230V? The spec sheet and plate on the motor state it is 240V. Is this not correct?

My screw up, there is a similar thread & got them mixed up. Your line connections go on the quick connect terminals of the pressure switch, do not use one of those cheapie combo stripper/cutter/crimper tools, a ratcheting crimper is best but quite uncommon outside the trade but one listed by the manufacturer of the crimp terminals should be used,which also should be listed by UL or other recognized testing org., automotive ones do not cut it.

BTW, "normal" motor ratings are 200V,or 230V, 240V is a bit unusual, they usually rated 200 or 230 for a 208 or 240 volt supply.

It does not say in the manual or on the compressor whether it should be clock wise or counter clock wise rotation. It does give instructions for which terminals to connect for each. Which direction should it run?

Rotation? Why are u worried about rotation? U can't change motor rotation with single phase 240v! Is your compressor 3 phase?
