just built me a room outside from my garage for my compressor mainly cause i hate hearing it run, its an 8x8 room or so. my question is should i heat it during the winter. my first thought is yes.

Use 100% synthetic oil and make sure the tank and any water traps are drained daily.

You can do something simple, like using a car magnetic block heater underneath the pump mounting, or on the side of the crankcase, if you have a cast iron pump. You only really need this in below-freezing temps, however. You can also switch to a lower-vicosity oil for cold-weather operation.

I'd try to keep it above freezing when the pump isn't running if it were me. When it is running it will probably still generate enough heat that you might need an exhaust fan in a room that size depending on how you use it.
