Hi all, I am looking to purchase a new/used air compressor for general shop use in the 14 to 16 CFM range.
A vertical tank would be best as space is a factor. Have plenty of power so 220 3 Phase would be ok.
So many options in the marketplace, and I have about $1500.00 to spend.
Your thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
Scott

A good solid 5 HP should work good for you. Most produce roughly 18 CFM. If you have 3 phase available, that is the way to go. We have several I could suggest.

I have one discounted model available right now if you are interested. It is new, just been in manufacturer's stock too long. so it is discounted. It still will have the full two year warranty. It is a BelAire, not a cheap brand.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Keep in mind compressors get downrated for altitude. A 5 HP / 18 CFM unit would probably put out 14-15 CFM in their part of the country.

Eh BelAire isnt that great of a brand either. Get the Harbor Freight unit. Its better.

Except that its not...

The Harbor Freight 60 gallon that everyone loves is the same pump as the Belaire 216v (not sure which motor each uses, but probably also the same). And even at that depending on if you have a local Belaire dealer/HF the cost on them could be negligible.

And they are both is a very very far cry less then the one linked above.

Best bang for your buck would be the HF 60 gal, the true 2 stage unit.

If I would buy anything else, it would be a Quincy QT45, but I can't justify the extra $450 for the Quincy when the HF has slightly better specs. They may be BS, but they are so close in comparison that it makes sense to go for the HF model.

Take care of the machine and it will take care of you.
