I have a 60 gallon sanborn tank but the pump and motor are off a smaller compressor (assuming it was probably a 3 horse / 30 gallon) the motor seems to run alot...would there be any advantage to adding an additional tank to the system (I seem to see alot of tanks laying around with the pump/motor gone) or would this just be more for my small pump to fill??
Anyone care to share how they built their intake muffler? I hate the sound the compressor makes...
Anyone know where I can find a replacement Sanborn regulator, mine leaks pretty bad...
thanks!

A larger tank will take longer to fill and give a bit more air storage but once it drains youll have to wait leven longer for the small pump to fill it up. Id consider selling the current pump / motor and checking ebay for amotor and either a pump or ordering one from eaton and save youeself the headache, if your budget allows. What you can do in your garage all comes down to $$$, trust me, it ***** lol

I agree with Jim, another tank will just take longer and as far as the noise goes just put it outside and build a lean too around it unless you want to drop the cash for a rotary screw cabinet machine.

You might want to factor in the duty cycle of the motor/compressor. Too much tank could mean overheating your little compressor.
