currently have a Pro air ii compressor 25 gallon oil free and for what I'm using it for its not big enough
specs;
- 5.3 CFM @ 90 PSI
- 25 gallon tank
- 120 Volt / 15 amps

I'm looking for a oil stationary 240 volt Air compressor, It wont be used everyday but will be using it for the restoration on my camaro, grinding, painting etc....

what are your thoughts on these two compressor?

Sanborn 60 Gallon Single stage Oil-Lubricated Air Compressor

Air Delivery @ 90 PSI ; 11.5 CFM
Cast-iron pump

Ingersoll Rand 60 Gallon Single Stage Oil-Lubricated Air Compressor
5HP, 240V AC 22.5 Amps
Air Delivery @ 90 PSI ; 18.1 CFM

Ideally you'd get a true 5-7.5 HP dual-stage (175 PSI) air compressor 17+ CFM on an 80 vertical gallon tank. Generally, once you get to 7.5 HP you stop running out of air unless. 5 HP does work well for many people.

The 3.x HP 60 gallon single-stage pumps look good in the garage but that's about it. In reality they are not that much better than a 1.x (2 HP nominal) roll around.

If you can get one with an after cooler that would be best. If working in dusty/ dirty environments, get one with a TEFC motor ($100 add on) so the motor isn't getting clogged with the dust, dirt, and paint.

The dual-stage cycles 135-175 PSI and this works better or air tools because a standard single-stage cycles around 90-135 PSI. Single stage compressors do NOT take into consideration pressure drop across lines, couplers, and swivels. So by the time it comes on at 90 PSI your tools may only be seeing 50 PSI... Dual-stage eliminates this problem.

Single-stage is really for things like fire sprinkler systems and other medical or industrial uses that don't need higher pressure. Dual-stage is meant for automotive work. Mass marketing at big box stores may have you believe otherwise, but believe me, dual-stage works way better in an automotive shop.

I'm looking at these two compressors;

I think for my home garage that does not get used everyday either one of these should work, what do you guys think? and which one should I go with?

Ingersoll Rand 60 Gallon Single Stage Air Compressor (SS5L5)
5HP, 240V AC 22.5 Amps
Air Delivery @ 90 PSI ; 18.1 CFM
Cast-iron pump
Max Pressure 135 PSI

Ingersoll Rand 80 Gallon 2-Stage Cast-Iron Air Compressor (TS4N5)
5HP, 240V
Air Delivery @ 90 PSI ; 15.8 CFM
Cast-iron pump
Max Pressure 175 PSI

why does the 2 stage have less CFM then the 60 gallon?
