Sorry guys and gals. New to here as of today.. not sure where to start a post or as questions yet, but I'm sure I'll be told quickly lol.
Reason for my post.. I have a porter cable pancake compressor home depot special... has worked great. Until now. It powers on. It fills up to proper psi. It shuts off when it get there. All works as normal with exception that the air only comes out in short bursts. Tanks still full, just puts out a burst, wait 30 seconds and you can have another short burst. I was assuming a solenoid or something but I'm here to ask the pros. Thanks in advance and sorry for posting this in the wrong place I'm sure lol
Thanks Patrick

Sounds like you have a issue with the regulator, had a issue with my husky 30 gallon that I couldnt run a impact because the regulator was killing air flow. I removed the regulator and it's been great ever since.

Definitely sounds like the regulator. Perhaps a piece of rubber/PTFE thread tape is plugging it up? Wild guess.

Did a little more research and heard to check and clean check valve. Any thoughts?

you have 3 posts here saying the regulator is suspect. no one has mentioned the check valve. highly unlikey that's the cause , in fact I would say with certainty 100% not with the situation you posted .

Thank you for pointing out the obvious cobbler. Much help indeed. When I made my second post about the check valve for whatever reason my browser hadn't updated and I had zero responses on my issues. Threw out what I found in the porter cable "troubleshooting" manual, and as soon as I posted it all the regulator responses showed up. But thanks for your observation!
Appreciate the help fellas
