Air filter and pressure regulator

Hey guys, I recently installed an IR T30 with a 3/4” air line. I now want to install a regulator and water trap filter thingy - I know, not the technical term. I am not presently painting with this setup and have a commercial refrigerated dryer when I head that direction. I basically just want something that allows me to regulate air pressure and not pump my tools full of water.

I want something good, but I also don’t want to lose my *** on the price. And I detest air leaks, so quality and value is important.

Thanks for any recommendations you have!

John

I've had success with Ingersoll Rand's filters/regulators/lubricators...I have a combo filter/regulator that's the higher 250psi rating right off the compressor to step down the line pressure below 150psi for my black iron pipes. Then use another filter/regulator combo at my main drop and have a separate filter/regulator/lubricator separates for my lift (air releases).

No leaks, no stick regulators, no issues at all in years with them.

Do you have any idea what the part numbers are for those regulators you use?

I believe it's the P39344-610. It's the 1/2" with metal bowl filter/regulator combo. Granted it's 1/2" and you said 3/4"...but it can flow 172cfm which is more than anything I could ever ask of my compressor with the tools I'm using.

Okay, thank you for the information. I will see if I can track down one of those units. Much appreciated!

Parker also has a line of regulators and filers you could look into.

ItsNemo raised a good point - to put the final filter and regulator at the point of use. This will ensure you get dryer air and no rust from the lines. This would be especially helpful if your compressor does not have an aftercooler.

Festo is another brand...

but a lot of people setup after cooler right after the pump and a air/water separator / automatic drain before it goes into the tank... then just another air water separator on the exit.
