Air filter/reg question

Running 3/4" lines and wondering what, if any, problems I might have if I use a 1/2" filter regulator near the compressor?

Have a old Sears 1/2 that needs work.
3/4 is more expensive and harder to find.

Thoughts welcome!

Short of needing reducer out of regulator, I see no problems. Leaky

I agree with Leaky88. If you check the CFM flow specs on halfway decent quality filters you will find that they have far more flow capability than your compressor can generate.

Just ordered that. Thanks for the info. Most of my local choices were off shore. I found it for 99. on Google shopping but had to call to get that price.
Had to deal with the hard sell on joining the discount club.

A 3/8 reg will work and in some cases one with 1/4 ports on the on work. The 3/4 pipe is oversize.
