It is time to buy a new air filter for the new heat pump. I am wondering what recommendation do you all have for a new filter?

Is that 4" thickness?

Whatever filter brand your choose, make sure it's a pleated filter style. They have much more filtering area for a given outside dimension than regular filters. I tell my customers to change them according to the schedule of one month per inch thickness. (1" lasts one month, 2" lasts 2 months, etc.) On monthly changes do it when the electric bill comes in - the power company won't forget to tell you it's that time again!
