When I ever get my honey do things out of the way, and install my first air system I have a question.
My outlet ports to be installed on the wall are 1/2".
Going to install safety couplers.

I see that couplers are available in two sizes 1/4" body, with 1/4" thread or 1/4" body, with 1/2" thread. They both cost approx. the same.

If I install the 1/4" body with 1/2" thread I will save an adapter.
Reading posts it seems like people are using the adapters, am I missing something? If I understand fitting correctly the 1/4" body is the normal size for a home garage.

It saves a fitting but,,,, what is the rest of the layout look like? I know its common and hydrants seem like a good idea but they aint and not needed in most places. I screw the hose reel to the pipe or regulator and the only coupler is at the end, the tool end of the hose. Cant use it without a hose anyway and this prevents the user from disconnecting a section of charged hose. In my shop there are reels and some fixed whips which are a section of hose screwed to the regulator long enough to do work and have a coupler for the tool.
The user never really moves the hose to a new place.
