Air fittings, hoses, etc?

I'll be using a portable 150 psi 5.5cfm @90 till I get my 80gal Champion rebuilt and set up.
That leads me to try to get the most out of my impacts, ratchets, etc.

Are some brand chucks, fittings, etc flow better?
Anyone "drill out" fittings for less restriction?

Thoughts?

V style fittings as other suggested. If you don't mind the color purple, you can get "colorfit" fittings and couplers made by milton in kits online for a reasonable price. Amazon has the female and male plugs in boxes of 20 for about $20 shipped for example. They also have various kits depending on how many fittings, couplers, etc. you require usually lower than most other places.

For what it's worth, I've done a good bit of work off of a compressor rated not much higher than that one: 5.9cfm@90psi. I don't remember it ever failing to break a bolt using an impact that was rated for 500 ft-lbs using a 3/8'' hose with standard 1/4'' fittings. The regulator was probably cranked to the max in a few cases though.

I would want 100 at the tool so want good 120 at compressor.
keeping hose length sensible and fittings decent helps a lot.
I have 3/8 hose on my small 150psi on wheels portable compressor and that runs impact just fine with regulator at 120psi, even air hammer pretty well but real long run times work a small compressor hard.

Anyone know if the colorfit couplers made in the USA like the steel and brass Milton stuff?

I bought about 10 automotive style colorfit couplers for like $0.50 each on clearance. I drilled the body out slightly to accept M style plugs . they work well together . (the m plug fits a bit deeper than the a plug but it all works well together from my experience)

Probably soon there will be new ones on market that sound like they'll be better than we've ever seen.Must of been a thread just like this one because I posted a video not long ago.The guy had fittings all ready for the market and instead, he improved them so still waiting. Man the issues people have.lol
