So I purchased this item about a year ago. It does everything I can ask of it. For the cost it is a no brainer. I happened to stumble across this video. Ken

The Torque Test Channel liked it a lot too. Astro, according to my inside man, is coming out with a 0.401 version of Big Nasty soon. It will be interesting to see how that performs compared to the Chief and the I-R. Apparently the secret sauce to making a useable version of these powerful air hammers is designing a trigger that gives you some degree of control and that's what ASTRO has been diligently working on. The I-R's advantage over the Chief is the ability to feather the trigger. That's my major complaint with Big Nasty. It's all or nothing.

Question is, would the big nasty 401 compete with my snap on 3050? Trigger control that gun is great. My cp714 had better trigger control, bit was likely 20% lower on power. The compact form factor was nice in the 714 but I had a lot of piston sticking issues with the gun. A few trips to the rebuild shop never really fixed that.

Or you could buy an aircraft rivet gun. Those have the ability to feather the trigger down to one hit and also hit hard. A 4X rivet gun is far superior in terms of power and being controllable to most/all air hammers. You can get rivet guns in up to 7X power although that wouldn't be necessary with most automotive jobs. A 7X gun hits HARD.

This is a pretty decent 4X gun.

Power: 90-105% of the PH3050B, TBD
Trigger Control: 80-90% (Which is to say very good)
Price: 25%
Looks: Industrial like Big Nasty, no fancy colors I'm afraid

But yeah if you have the 3050B no reason to need it really

Sounds like an excellent tool, at what I assume will be an excellent price as usual.

Before I made the purchase to the "Chief" I had a Husky 4630 that I purchased at my local Lowes. This one had great trigger control but lacked the "Beans" to say remove a stuck on wheel bearing. So I rolled the dice and gave the Chief a new home. It has as of yet not failed a mission.

"Chris", The Bus Grease Monkey uses his tools a bit harder the Eric does. Might be someone worth visiting. He uses the Chief and is not disappointed with it.

is this a refined version of the .401 shank tool you sold for a limited time 4920??? if i remember the part number correctly. I also have a cp714 for precision type work as it is the standard for trigger control but look forward the stronger with high control as an addition
