Ok guys so last year i had a new top of the line lennox heat pump system installed in my house. Cost ALOT ($18k) of hard earned cash but costs almost nothing to heat/cool my house. I love it, except for the inital cost of course....
I am now considering installing an air handler/heat pump in my garage... I will have R-38 in the ceiling, R-21 in the walls, windows are insulated, and garage doors insulated to R-7....
I am looking into a Goodman system, they are substantially cheaper and seem to work great. My dad uses them in his rental houses and hasnt had any problem with them yet!
I will have a 15kw backup heat strips in the air handler for backup when its REALLY cold and the heatpump is out of its efficiency range.
maybee just the air handler with the heatstips and skip the heatpump? My electricity is about $0.07 per kilowatt hour. (depending on how much i use, cheaper the more i use)
I want to keep the garage atlest 40* and around 65* when im in there..... wich will be basically every night...
