Air hose couplers

Was wondering if someone could help me with hose size couplers I should be using 1/4 or 3/8 most gonna be air tools and spraying paint have a 60 gal air compressor

Normally I use whatever size coupler fits the hose. I have 3/8" hose with 1/4"

NPT ends, so I use 1/4" couplers. Never had any problems. Stick with Milton

for couplers. Choose a type, then stick with it.

I just stepped up to 3/8" ID couples with 1/4" NPT threads on a 3/8" hose. I never understood why I ran 1/4" ID couplers before with 3/8" hose. Not a life changing difference, but I feel the tool is getting all the air it may need.
