Am I crazy? I am looking for a air hose reducer fitting that I assumed would be fairly common.
Virtually impossible to find. I'm been on the Internet and in all of the hardware stores and cannot find.
I am looking for a 1/2" NPT female - 3/8" NPT male reducer fitting.
I just want to run a 6' lead hose from my compressor to a retractable reel that I mounted to the ceiling. Compressor outlet air hose is 1/2" and the inlet fitting and air hose size on the retractable is 3/8" female.
Why is this little item so hard to find and can someone please give me some guidance where else I might look.
Thanks for helping.

I think you will have to get bushing from 1/2 to 3/8 and then use 3/8 barb

It may be difficult to find on the shelf at a basic hardware store, but ay hydraulic hose store can make it for you. Instead of adapters, I have them make short "whip" hoses with the two ends I need.
