I searched alot of threads about airhoses but couldn't find the answer I'm looking for.
Bought this 3/8 " airhose reel at least 8 years ago. I believe its from H Freight. The hose is splitting at the end.
Is there a way to cut the end and fix it or should I buy another length of hose and reattach to the reel?

I thought that all of the push on fittings
require "their" hose? The ID should be fairly consistent between air line manufacturers, but the OD I believe is important with these push in or no crimp fittings.

Just buy a new hose and put it in there. Once that cheap hose starts going the rest of it is not far behind.
If you are desperate, you can cut the crimped shell off, trim the hose back, then use a hose clamp in lieu of a crimp sleeve.

A hydraulic shop should be able to make a premium quality hose that will last so long
that you will forget where you bought it from.

Its definitely the harbor freight reel. I bought one over 15 years ago. I moved before I hooked it up and moved 3 times since. Hopefully with my new space it will get used.

I have a few 1/4" air hoses I bought 35 years ago and used in a engine repair shop. Aeroquip push on oil hose. Good stuff. I still am using it and it might outlive me. The ends start to come apart from the flexing, so I snip of six inches, shove the barb back in and good for five more years.

I bought a Goodyear hose in '82 that's still going strong. Placed a 4 inch or so section of heater hose to act as a 'strain relief' at the compressor tho. Meanwhile, there are 23 million search results for 'how to repair an air hose' on Bing.
