Air hose reel height

Could some of you please tell me what height you mounted your reel on the wall? I finally got one after years of wanting to. I am gonna mount it between my two garage doors.

I made a mistake when I mounted mine, I put it as high as I could in my shop. I didnt leave enough room between the roof and the reel. Sometimes the hose gets wrapped up fat on one side and hits the roof. Mount it as low as you can were you want to put it without it getting in the way of other things. My roof is pretty low so mine has a 3 foot stinger that sticks out of the reel when its fully wrapped up.I need to move mine down so that the roof is the same distance from the reel as the mounting bracket. By the way, it was one of the best things I have ever purchased for my shop. I cant stand hoses laying all over the place. Even wrapped up they look like hell. -Ben

Under the Bench directly hooked to the Pump...

Disregard the rest of the Hose hanging from the Reel. It is just extra. I like to have it low and right by the Pump. Just my .o2

I have one reel hung from the ceiling. I have the "stop" on the line set to when I have a blowgun on the coupler it is about 4" above my head. The other reel I have about waist high mounted by my roll up garage door.

Thanks guys! It's problems like yours, Ben, that I try to avoid but sometimes I overthink things too. That's why I like to get a consensus!

I think I'm gonna mount mine on the ceiling after stumbling on a pic of OldCarGuy's garage, http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c239/OldCarGuy_1955/igarage2.jpg . With four young boys around it will be best to have it out of reach

Mine hangs from the ceiling (about 9 feet) with the rubber stop thing to hold the hose down. Works well enough. Makes it easy to work in either bay or any corner.

I mounted mine between my two garage doors. There is a beam in the ceiling supporting the upper floor, so it is lower than the rest of the ceiling. The center of the reel is 70" from the floor.
