Looking at replacing my air compressor hose. Right now I have the cheap plastic coated type and was thinking of the Flexzilla or a rubber hose. What are you using or recommend?
Thanks in advance

Flexzilla. Pretty much the only hose worth a darn in cold weather (IE well below zero).

Only real concern with them is dont let hot slag or large sparks hit the hose as they can and will melt. Not really an issue if you pay attention to what you are doing.

I picked up a Tekton hybrid hose which is just like the flexzilla but is made in USA and was only like $20 or $25 dollars and would definitely recommend it.

I love my Blubird hoses. Same benefits as the Flexzilla, and mine have held up very well. Very reasonably priced.

I think it all depends on how much you will use it, how often you will need to run it out and take it up, and in what temperatures. The recommendations above look right to me if you want the best hose.

I can use practically any without much trouble because I use them only around my own house, shop and garage. I can generally do what I need with rubber 3/8 and 1/2" hoses on reels, and I have many others to use if I need more distance.

^^^This.

My 10-12 year old Goodyear rubber hose is going strong and would probably look like new if I ever bothered to wipe it down. Home shop use.

I like flexzilla for the end of the line, where I am handling the tools. I use my heavier, less flexible hoses when I need distance.

I don’t use them enough to wear them out, yet.

I replaced the last of my 1982 purchased red Goodyear hoses with some of the Smartflex ones from the Flexzilla guys. I wouldn't recommend these, as they kink easy, hang up easy and don't roll up worth a flip.

Now that the Flexzilla line has replaceable fittings, I might try them.

My go-to is Flexzilla. I have a couple of plastic coated 50 ft. lines that I only use if I need more distance. Thinking of getting a couple more Flexzilla hoses to replace them.

I had a couple of these from Canadian Tire, don't get a spark around them,or work them in the cold. Both gone,I moved & sold them both. The ticket would be to put a flexilla hose on them.....now that I can recommend.

I have a couple old Goodyears that I used extensively as a building contractor from the late 80's until around '06. I still use them but not professionally and have never had a single issue with either of them.

I had the yellow Goodyear hose for years. I replaced them with Flexzilla after abusing the yellow hose to death and have been quite happy with the switch.

Sounds like most recommend the Goodyear or flexzilla hoses. I went with the best of both worlds flexzilla leader hose on a Goodyear hose. The goodyear hoses seem to be thicker and able to take abuse better IMHO around the typical DIYer garage; ie running them over with the car. Like the flexzilla for its flexibility and reusable end fittings. Perfect leader hose.

I have the black rubber HF hose and no problems in cold. 3 years old now. Use year round. I kept my plastic ones for spares in case i have to reach way out to the street.

I tried the Smart Flex as well and while they may be made by the same company as Flexzilla, they are NO way nearly as good. I tried to save money and that didn't work out

From recommendations on this site I bought the Sears black rubber hose. It's 5-6 yrs old and gets used a couple times a week. I don't know if they are still available but for DIY it's been a winner.

you're probably thinking Blue Bird Hoses?
they gave several away as trials. in my opinion they are better than the flexilla hoses, not as good as the Tundra line I used to get at Princes Auto

if they are a sponsor and have good equipment why not support?
I did get a sample pressure washer hose but ashamed to say never tried it as the pressure washer blew up. Now looking for a replacement pump.

Goodyear hoses are the best for all weather performance.

If you anticipate to bend the line alot consider getting a hose with end protectors or this will happen:

Flexeel air hose. I've used mine at work for 3 years, 40 hrs. a week every day and no issues. It's light (polyurethane) and makes working with any air tool a pleasure. And there about the same price as Goodyear hoses we formerly used which became problematic after a few months of use.
