Air Impact Wrench/ GUN

I’m about to purchase my 1st air impact gun. I’m only going to use the gun to remove and install tires. I’m on a budget but don’t want to buy a crappy gun. What do you think of the IR-2100G it’s in my budget.

CP-749 To me is the Bad Azz for a tire buster impact gun. I know I going to get razz for it and folks will say $300. IR is better but, for the price of $157.00 it will do the job quickly. I have snap off stud of stuck nuts if I "ride" it to long. Other in the shop come for mine when the have a stuck nut problem. I have Royal Purple 30 weight oil in also.

I would go for it. From what I read it on par to the CP-749. for that price can't go wrong. I would buy if I had the money. It would make a nice back up to my Cp-749 at work.

Wow, nice price and the customers reports from NorthenTool sure like it. I have three 1/2" impacts and really don't care for any of them. CP (Chicago Pneumatics, Goodyear, and another no name brand. I have alway respected IR and I may just purchase this one and swap meet the others that I own.

i just like the cp line of impacts. i have the same gun in 3/8 1/2 and 3/4. never let me down.

For not a lot more money, you can step up to the IR 2135TiMax. I bought one used from amazon for $125, awesome gun! Right now, there's a low price of $219 for a new one.

I decided to step up from my prior gun (Mastercraft POS) that couldn't take the bolt off one of my rear struts. The 2100 you posted also couldn't take it off. My BIL brought his 2135 over and with a little heat, the bolt zipped right out. No more convincing required. You can't go wrong with the 2100 (and for strictly tire changes, it'd be great) but I'd recommend the 2135 - when you need the power (and you'll probably start tackling other jobs as your confidence builds), it'll be there.

If the end is near and I have to go underground, I will grab an IR 231, it is THE impact wrench, I have retired mine and upgraded, but long after my fancy titanium one has died, the 231 will STILL be kicking ***. It should be every ones first impact, and if you only ever own one impact, it is the only logical choice.

The IR231 kicks ***! You can drop it, beat on it, and it'll still run. I have the 2135-series guns and even though they're more powerful and lighter, the damn plastic trigger has broken on me a couple times. With the IR231, I dont have to worry much about breaking anything.

I currently have two IRT2135's purchased one used. The used one had more balls than the brand new one (maybe needs more breakin??). I would highly recommend it for anyone. The most essential tool in the box!!

Honestly, the Harbor Freight earthquake gun is great. My IR titanium is nicer but that gun is a good value and strong. I had one (got it s part of a lot) and it was really a good tool and I think 99.9% of HF stuff is ****. It is about the only tool I would recomend there.

That is nonsense. A used gun can be as good as a new one. True some people abuse them, but thats why it's best to try it out before actually purchasing the gun. Besides, you're only using it for tire rotations and whatnot so it's not like it's going to see huge workload.

Buying a used air tool is similar to buying a used car. You just have to check it out and make an educated purchase and you will save a lot of money over buying new.

I have acquired all my air tools used except for my die grinder, so another vote here for getting at 2135Ti used. Its a great gun.

I got the ir quiet gun from sears. it was like $179 I use it all day at work and like it . it is quiet and powerful enough for any normal auto work.

I got a IR 231 from Amazon just yesterday, still in the kitchen. Its on sale now for about $108. Looks like a great buy. It will replace a 40 year old CP "Little Giant" that still is tough, just a little weaker. I'll be 64 next month and I needed a new tool.

I fully agree the 1/2" Earthquake is really a great air gun. It's usually on sale and combined with a 20% coupon the price of about $ 65 is absolutely unbeatable. Very strong, silent, and nice handling.
