Hi everyone i'm new to this forum, just bought a new compressor, it's Devair IS5-4060, three cylinder/single stage 60gal vertical, i was under the impression that by useing a larger tank that would not cycle as often that this water issue would be less of a problem? But i look in the "show us your compressor thread" and there are guy's with dryer's and homemade air coolers and such, great atempts at getting rid of the evil water. So from this i can see that nomatter how big the tank is we will always have to fight the nasty moisture gods on an ongoing basis?

Thats right, unless you live somewhere where there is no moisture in the air that the compressor takes in (like on one of the poles). I think that the thought that with a bigger tank you will get less water comes from the fact that if it runs less the air temp in the tank will be lower and the water can condense out of the air easier. Another thing that helps to get the temp down so the water can condense out is a large low speed pump which will cause less heating of the air during compression.
