I run quite a bit of black pipe, about 60 feet before it hits the first three filters, then another probably another 40 feet into the paint booth and into another filter.
I run a large bead blaster, it goes about 60 feet after the last filter, then a rubber hose into the blaster.
I'm in Wisconsin, 30 miles south of Green Bay or 100 miles North of Milwaukee on lake michigan, and we get a few humid days, but not many, and I never have a moisture problem.
With a sharpe F-88 type filter, you can leave it alone for a year or two before you ever have to look at, but I'm not sure how an airdryer works or how much you have to do maintenance on it.
I changed out the stone filter in my paint booth one time, and thats because my air compressor let loose with some oil, and if you took it out right now it would be snow white, but I run three F-88's before it gets to that one.
Its all in what works, I'm 66 years old, and if it works, I won't touch it.
And if an airdryer is doing the job, I wouldn't touch that either.
