I have a HD-7W on order and was wondering if I should hard plumb an air line to the lift or just use my air hose to unlock the lift? The lift will be anchored to the floor so I will not ever move it. Can I "permanently" run a flexible hose to the lift and just leave it or does it have to be black iron pipe?

Congrats on the purchase. I have drops through out my shop but I have the yellow 1/4" coil attached to the lift for air line with a quick disconnect to remove it from the air drop if needed.

I just use my air hose when its time to unlock; added a quick connect fitting to the release valve.

drop from above goes into a HF water seperator then to a quick connect fitting on the lift. Before I did this i just hooked up the hose to it when I used it. Drop from above removes a bunch of floor clutter

I run a hose overhead as well. One less thing to trip over.
That said, to me the air locks are a PIA. I would prefer manual locks...
