So I bought a framing air nailer at a yard sale last year but the only problem with it is that it takes a 34 deg angle of nail clip. I can't find any 34 deg nails at the normal outlets.
Has that angle always been an oddball size? If I remember right, Lowes had some 35 deg nails, is that close enough?

Being off by a degree or two is usually no big deal but you won't know until you run some of the nails through it.

I own a hitachi nr83aa3 (or something like that, I forget). It takes clipped head paper collated strips. It is 34 degrees and I've had great luck at menards. Thu have coated, galvanized, and even stainless steel nails. I've used the stainless steel for a cedar firewood rack and the coated for misc framing with great luck and practically no jams.

I run across 34 degree clip head guns every once in a while. They do not meet code here in FL though.

It isn't the gun, of course, it's the nail. Same here in CA, no clipped heads. But, there is a lot you can do that is non structural with a 34-35° gun.

You can order nails on the Net. See if you can get someone to send them USPS in a standard rate box.

I say try it out. If you don't want to buy a keg of nails, just find a house under construction. I'm sure they would give you a strip of nails. If you can't find anyone, PM me your address and I'll send you a strip. I use full heads out of a Hitachi NR83A2, but I think I still have some clipped heads from my Senco.

What model and brand is your nail gun? What do you consider normal outlets?

It's a Porter Cable FC350. I been to lowes and home depot so far with no luck. We got a menards 40 miles away in st joe but I'll probably order over the net if I can't find any at sears.
Thanks for the replies guys.
