My guess is it's a case of quantity sold that's driving the price... The only air powered jacks I've seen used are the bumper-types that look like hand-trucks. And even then, only in garages that have been around for decades... back when most garage lifts were in-ground... I've never seen an air-powered trolley jack in person.

There was some discussion on this a while back, I recall someone talking about the airbag jacks to use on a jack tray of a 4 post lift. Seems to me Costco had something reasonable.
