Yeah, looks like some kind of combo vise. The hydraulic vises I've seen don't have a handle.

I have the six inch version of that vise. It works just like normal, however it wont open as far as a standard machinist vise. The jaws will close .5" when powered. With my vise clamping force of the jaws is adjustable, by air pressure, up to 6000 lbs.

To power the vise you need air pressure, air/hydraulic cylinder and a pedal. I have the vise, stand and air/hydraulic cylinder. Hopefully Ill have time to get it running latter this year.

They were made for production work where you put the same work piece in all the time. just adjust it once...then put the piece in...hit pedal to clamp.....release vise 1/2"...put new work piece in and repeat until time to go home. In my case it would be clamp fingers and go to the hospital....submit workman's comp....look for new job.

Thats a Wilton first, A three bolt base and it almost looks like it came with the vise.
