Air Reservoir

I'm running ideas around my head for the shed that I am planning and was thinking since its a small (compared to a garage) shed and I won't have a lot of air tools that a smaller pancake compressor would be the way to go. In addition to this I would have a couple gallon reservoir inside the shed.

The reasoning for the smaller compressor is that if/when I need it for the house I would be able to easily move it into the house.

The bulk of my air usage will be filling tires, die grinders, air brush, drying models, that kind of thing.

I haven't looked too indepth but a quick google search that turned up a 2.5 gallon from amazon for $80. I was thinking that just a reservoir should be less than that and I would prefer to buy local to eliminate the need to ship it.

Any suggestions on where to get one and what a 4ish gallon reservoir should cost?

Thanks

Just buy a portable air tank. You can get them in 5, 7, 10 Etc. They generally start around $30.

What about water removal?

Mount the tank upside down to it isn't the lowest point?

I guess I should have said micro and mini die grinders. And they won't be at the same time of course.

If you must use a small compressor with hard lines, you can use the lines as air storage. Use inch or bigger lines and youll be amazed at the amount of air storage over a long run of pipe.

Don't go too large on the external tank. The duty cycle of the little pump and motor are based on the pancake tank.
