Air Tank Drain Muffler

I recently installed an automatic moisture drain on my air compressor.
I was hoping to get some ideas on how to quiet it down when it activates.
I have it set to activate about every hour for approx. 10 seconds.
It's on a timer so it only active 3 or 4 hours in the afternoon.
It personally doesn't bother me, however, we recently moved into a new community and I'd like to quiet it down some.
The neighbors are fairly close by. I don't want to get off on the wrong foot with the noise. The compressor itself is very quiet when it cycles. Its just the bursts of air when it bleeds the tank moisture.
I would certainly welcome suggestions.
Many Thanks,
Jeff

^^ you're not concerned they will plug up? they are air mufflers, not for water per-say .
Not really plug up, but limit flow, yes, that is why I recommend two of them on a tee.

Where I previously worked the large filter drums in the water based coolant tanks were rotated by a 4"x12" air cylinder on a ratchet mechanism actually under the surface. When the gland seals of the cylinder rod failed it would **** in the coolant and we would know when these filters on the large Norgren Pneumatic stack valves started spitting coolant it was time to replace the cylinder. I am not saying over a long time that rust particles might plug them, but the water itself wont, and it will be a very long time. The fact that its drained daily should mitigate the rust particles.

Our work compressor timed drain was real loud. I put a small valve in the outlet and played with it to throttle is back. Got it to a quiet hiss. Simple and cheap.

muffle it with a bunch of old rags, just clump it around the pipe . does a fantastic job of quieting it down. Don't worry about flow the pressure will just blow out the water, it also doesn't spray like an open pipe. I don't have an automatic, but when I drain my tank manually I put a big towel around the pipe and it makes the sound tolerable.

You want an air muffler, they are used on the drains on large desiccant dryers so they are designed to handle water and reduce noise. I've put them on multiple auto drains people have complained about. I also use them to put a load on a system while I'm servicing a compressor if the plant is drawing enough air to cycle them quickly/ build heat.

I have ours run into a a hydraulic fluid bucket filled with gravel, oil absorbent and white pig mat. Traps oil carryover and drains water then the air vents out holes around the top.
