Air tool cleaning fluid?

I'm a newb when it comes to air tools. I just picked up an IR 114GQC, and it recommends first immersing the hammer in an appropriate cleaning fluid to remove the internal and external rust-preventive coating before then adding air tool oil. What's this magical, mysterious cleaning fluid? The only thing I can find searching online is the PB Blaster Air Tool Cleaner and Conditioner.

Never done it to a new tool but in gummed up older tools I have put brake cleaner through them followed by a heavy dose of air tool oil. Mac tools actually recommends against oiling air hammers through the air inlet. Claim is that the valve gets gummed up and the hammer stops working. Instead they suggest oiling through the chuck before installing the chisle so the piston gets lubricated directly.

Thanks for all of the excellent suggestions. I ended up putting a call into IR, and the engineer there said they recommend a non-flammable degreaser like Simple Green or Purple Power for both inside and out. I had some Simple Green on hand, so went with that.

Kroil works wonders on removing deposits from air tools, I used it in big reciprocating saws on plant air. When they started to slow, just give a couple sprays of Kroil and back in business.

Marvel Mystery air tool oil is pretty thin, lower weight than most. I hear it loosens up gunked tools very well. I would try that to flush out whatever was in there.
