In the process of rebuilding my Ingersoll Rand 232 impact gun.
I've got everything cleaned up and was getting ready to repack the front end of the gun (twin hammer / anvil part) with grease but was wondering if it matters what type of grease I use?
Is the IR grease just proprietary or does it have additives that make the only suitable product for it's application? I was thinking of just getting some automotive CV boot type equivalent and using that since the IR grease seems hard to come by / expensive.
