I've heard of them, but can't find them for sale. Anyone know where to buy or have any experiece with them? Does it help reduce the noise level?

If you're talking about the kind of silencers that look like little pieces of scotch-brite that come in the exhaust outlet; you're not going to want that in there.

If you don't already have the air tool you are looking at running such as ratchet, impact, drill, die grinder, you could look at the aircat brand of tools, they are very quiet compared to other brands. My 2 yr old will stay around when I run the aircat die grinder but will take off in a big hurry if I run my other one. Wouldn't something added on like this rather than designed into the tool reduce performance?

I have the Aircats and they are quiter, but you still can't cover up the impact of the socket to bolt.
