Air tools on clearance at Wal-Mart

I was in my loca Wal-Mart store today and found that they have all of their Campbell-Hausfeld air tools on clearance. They also had a few Stanley air tools clearanced out as well. The prices aren't that great right now, but they have enough in stock that they could get pretty cheap as time goes by. You would really have to go in every other day or so and check the remaining inventory to see if the tool you want has gotten any cheaper.

I went to the air tool aisle back in automotive to see if they got newer C-H or Stanley air tools in but they did not. The have a very cheap brand that I haven't heard of stocked in the aisle now. Air power of something like that. Most likely Chinesse junk. Their 1/2" impact was only $19.95. I would avoid this stuff if you are looking for air tools. The C-H and Stanley air tools are usually pretty good for a hobbiest that is on a budget. I've used C-H and Husky air tools and they have lasted a long time. This new junk just doesn't look all that great to me.

The C-H, Stanley, and Huskey air tools are not worth spending money on if you plan to do any serious automobile work; a friend of mine bought a Husky impact wrench and it would not even loosen the lug nuts on his Toyota Corolla ... :( he ended up using a cross wrench ...

So in summary everybody:

You know that Chinese **** you shouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole?
Walmart just replaced it with chinese **** you shouldn't touch with an 11 foot pole.

Did you seriously just compliment the horrible Stanley and Campbell-Hausfeld airtools that walmart sold? :rolleyes2:

Anyone know who makes a good 10 foot pole ? The Stanley 10 pole I got at Walmart folded like a cheap card table the last time I had to use it. I am thinking the Craftsman ten footer may serve my needs but I wonder if the Truck brands may be worth the extra $. Please forgive me if there is already a thread about this.;)

They want to sell you **** so cheap you'll be able to buy two for the price of one good one. I don't see any reason to buy anything at WalMart.

None of you will shop at Wal Mart, but you will browse and peruse the wares at Harbor Freight.

Nice.

P.S. I was in Harbor Freight today ... they had a half price special going on with their 12 FOOT POLES!

Wal Mart is not know for tools... cheap clothing, food, oil (yes, I buy my Mobil 1 oil there) and other necessities .. but Harbor Freight Tools ... read, tools, sells tools, cheap crappy ones and good ones. A good place to pick up a IR 231 if you are so inclined ... :)

You'd better measure them. Chinese feet are smaller than American feet. I'd be surprised if that pole went 8 feet.

Chinese horsepower is that same scam. They have those tiny little horses they rate it with. A 5HP Chinese motor would equal about 2 cats and a squirrel anywhere else.

Sure. But they moved the auto department. Now there's a higher casualty count by the time I get out of there.

Nah, it might as well be called Mao Mart. I recall reading that Walmart was responsible for more of the US-china trade deficit than any other single company in the US. People just totally ignore that and continue shopping

I realize that. I have read and studied the American-Chinese economic "relationship" probably as much as anyone here.

Hate it if you must, but Wal-Mart ain't going anywhere fellers. It is as much a part of the free enterprise system as any other business out there.

It's called CAPITALISM, regardless of where the product they sell comes from.

True story. I shop there because I have to (nowhere else to shop around here...Mao Mart ran them all out).
I hate shopping there, but I do have a C-H impact wrench I bought there. It is a genuine gutless POS. If they are bringing in a new line, no doubt it is even worse.
I am a union member, and my union implores us to boycott Mao Mart and shop elsewhere. Too bad the stores they want us to patronize don't exist in a 150-mile radius of my home.
Where are we going...and why am I in this handbasket...?

No, I just don't buy ****, which is all either place sells.

:soapbox:

WalMart's trade practices offend me and they don't sell anything that I can't buy someplace else. Further, 95% of their products are cheap **** that I wouldn't want in my house or garage anyway.

HF sells junk, plain and simple. The only thing that I ever bought there that has worked is a dust pan. After my third shopping experience with them resulted in a floor jack that wouldn't even lift ME off the ground, much less a car, I decided that I was done. Now if I can just get them to stop inundating me with their flyers, I can use my recycle bin for its intended purpose......

And the answer is Walmart has gone to even cheaper China made ****. Was there for a tire yesterday and looked. Evidently C&H and Stanley's low end are to far up the quality chain. They had a whole bunch of something called Airpower I believe.

Since I have never heard of it, I am making the assumption they are taking something else and making either their own brand or a minor name and marketing it. The packaging looked nice except on the air compressors which looked like they had fallen off a truck on the interstate. As for the product, for the first time in my life I had these two thoughts. 1. Where is the nearest Harbor Freight and 2. When is the Cummings truck coming to town.

everything has its place, i was at both places last week, in HF i got sandpaper and a disk for said sandpaper and at WM i spent 50 cents for 2 cola flavored drinks from the vending machines outside (i was feeling poor) i can say that i havent actually been in a wall mart since they sold guns and i was getting 12gu shells to go kill some liberal watermelons :bounce:

Mike

btw ive once got a nice set of pick tools from HF, still have them to this day, moderation is key when buying **** lol, hence my HF drill press (that has worked flawlessly for a few years, but we will see
