AirCat 1055-TH Not Working - Just Exhausting Air

I bought the gun less than 2 years ago and use it occasionally for home vehicle repair (rotating tires, suspension, etc). It's small and powerful with 3 speeds (1, 2 3) in both forward and reverse. Most of the times it works but sometimes it does not, specifically in speed 1.

I started using speed 1 in forward for running down wheel lug nuts just to snug them. After lowering the vehicle, I then hand torque them. Well sometimes, the anvil doesn't spin - only air is exhausted. To get the gun to work again, I have to switch to speed 2 or 3, squeeze the trigger and then switch back to 1 and it will usually work.

I got fed up with this annoying behavior and since it's still under warranty, I sent it to one of AirCat's service centers. Of course they didn't find anything wrong with it, even after I described the issue in detail to the shop manager. So they sent it back to me and guess what? Right out the box, I change it to speed 1, connect it to the hose and squeeze the trigger - anvil doesn't spin. You only hear and feel air being exhausted.

By the way, 150 psi in compressor with regulator set to 100 psi. My IR gun doesn't do this.

Anyone know what's going on? Or suggestions for next steps? I really want to take it apart but probably won't because of the warranty situation.

Mine does the same. I still love it though. Thought i read where over oiling will cause this. I over oiled mine by mistake when I first got it.

Hopefully, someone knowledgeable will check in.

Sounds like the vanes in the air motor sticking
Does it have springs or ports under the vanes to push them out?
Ive seen coil springs, leaf springs, X shaped leaf springs and torsion springs.
Im sure you can find or make some if it dosent have any.
Maybe in low speed, not enough air flow to create the pressure required to move the vanes out if it uses air ports.
Once it gets going centrifugal force takes over.

do you oil it regularly before and after each use. Many of these guns get rust inside and it gums up the works, as well as reduces efficiency. I have an IR gun that I thought I took pretty good care of until I went to overhaul it. The insides needed work. Do you know if there is an overhaul kit on it?
