Airco Control Panel Restoration?

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I'm repainting my Airco 300 and the panel is abit "rough" but not faded. I was wanting to know if there was a way to freshen it up or polish it so it doesn't look too hammered?

I would suggest a gentle washing with a mild detergent like a dishwashing liquid. You may find that just removing years worth of grime will make the panel look much better. As a final coating, some sort of clear satin sprayed on to the panel will shine it up a bit with out being too shiny which would accentuate any flaws in the panel.
