AirCompressor cooling & noise reduction

I wanted to reduce the noise in my garage. I tend to run air hungry tools..
So I am puting it in its own room,outside the garage. I placed the comp
so it can draw outside air over the unit. I plan to leave the door open
when I media blast for more air flow. I would like to buy a good dryer in the future.




I have leftover metal siding and roof panels , I will cover the room to match
the main building.
Ive been building and setting up now for 15 months, Im not sure it will ever end. I wont to start building my car!!!:

Sure hope that you don't get much of a snow load on that little rooms roof...

Be careful of your compressor stored in the cold. I had a friend who's dad lost his leg and almost died when his exploded it was found that in the morning he turn on the compressor went for coffee when he open up the door it exploded it was discoverd that the moisture in the pressure switch that shuts down the motor at 125psi and the moisture in the blow off valve had frozen from the days use before so when the pressure reach critical limits it exploded just a note the garage was unheated in the evening

I agree, I have had other compressors used in rooms that freez. I found it important that I use a pressure release valve inside the main work shop that doesnt freez.

the roof should hold 3 feet of snow. the 9 joists only span 60inches.I bet it will never see more than 10 to 12 inches.

Make certain the popoff valves are good to go. Pull them occasionally to make certain they are free. Another problem with a compressor in an unheated room is the compressor motor is going to work harder to start the pump on cold mornings. All that said, my compressor is probably going into an external room in the next couple of years.
