Alemite Overhead Lube station

A couple of years ago I was at a farm auction and ended up owning this overhead lube station, which I believe to be Alemite. The only labels I can find are on the oil dispensing guns and they do say Alemite. It has an air reel, one for grease, and two oil dispensing reels.

I'm not wanting to keep it, but I would hate to scrap it. It has a really cool art deco look like the Alemite workbenches, though less ornate. Two of the enclosure panels are missing unfortunately. Being modular it could be converted from four sections to two.

I'm not sure what to do with it or where to find someone who might be interested in perhaps using it in their own garage or rebuild of an old service station. This would be a freebie. I'd consider crating it and taking to a freight company for the right reason, but I'd much rather someone local take it. This thing must weigh close to 150 pounds.

That thing brings back memories. They had one at the SOHIO I worked at briefly a lifetime ago. I remember what a pain it was to grease a car with that hose always in the way. It was fed from the bulk drums of gear oil and grease that set in the back room.

Put it on your favorite internet sales site for twice what you paid for it and I bet you won't have it long.

Its similar in construction as my Alemite Air and Light Reel but mine has the Alemite end covers.

I did try to list it on FB at one time, but I don't recall if I put it on Marketplace or just a couple of buy/sell groups I'm in.

This one is cool, but not as cool as the Lincoln version that I had my eyes on when I won the bidding. I only wanted the Lincoln, but bidding was for both as a single lot. I could have left the Alemite one there, but didn't want to see it scrapped.

Schools will not take donations of tools or shop support items. Too much liability in used equipment.

Heck, they won't even try to sell the good vintage shop stuff and power tools they have that could lead a good life in a private shop. It all goes in the dumpster.

That being said, tha unit looks just like the one we had at one of my old Exxons tha was probably built in the 50's. Please save it, someone!

This year because of Covid, they have been scrapping items instead.

When I taught auto body a few years back the abundance of old tools and equipment was mind boggling. They wanted to throw it away. I found homes for it

Hey guys, just thought I’d wrap this thread up.

I was able to pick up the reel unit from Skip in mid January, and recently finished the restoration. It has a new life and I was very excited to put it with my Shure service merchandiser. This summer I plan on restoring the merchandiser, so it should be a really good looking pair once it is finished.

Love seeing that this piece was brought back to life. This is exactly why I didn't want to scrap it.

Now I need to do the same justice to the Lincoln version that I kept.
