Man... this is amazing.

But what it really needs is a Wilton Shop King vise (in complimenting colors of course) Ryan!!!! you need to get this on the front page man!!!!

WOW, the bench is beautiful. Your attention to detail made the bench amazing:
vise base matching the shape of the vise, horizontal duplex outlets at the back, Texaco door knobs, color coordinated air hoses, button head screws attaching the vise, well fitted doors, 3-D Texaco stars on the lower doors, excellent fit and finish of the trim . . . the list never ends. Every time I look at a pic, I see another cool detail. Well done.

5 Star rating!

One of the best builds on the GJ, IMO. You've got some amazing talents- design, fabrication, bodywork, paint. And the rare ability to pull it all together.

Just WOW.
PD I counted 13 Stars on that work of Art! [and I didn't even look that hard]

DAMN, dude! That looks BETTER than a real Alemite bench.

Love everything I see about it but especially the little Texaco cabinet knobs and the air hose so nicely added n the side - did real ones have that feature? I’ve only ever seen pictures of real ones.

Is the “D” on the front your initial?

Man, you an absolutely be PROUD of it. It’s a tribute to your skills that will last (unfortunately) longer than you or any of us. SO SO SO nice!

Dan that "D" isn't for You! Manifee I will change my name though!;)
In all seriousness I really hope you have someone sentimental enough to cherish that after we all leave it behind.

Man... this is amazing.

But what it really needs is a Wilton Shop King vise (in complimenting colors of course* [The pictured colours work too, as this took Gold, Silver, And Bronze in this race]) https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1039642&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1596894866 Ryan!!!! you need to get this on the front page man!!!!
And I will add just one more WOW! And all the accolades are absolutely fitting, my forever welding table [taking forever to build] has some time vacuums as well but nothing like your trim and emblem work. I built name plaques and electrical receptacle covers to match my theme, so I know how long that detail work takes! Harry

Wow, you seem to have got the polishing work back pretty quick.
Way to knock it out of the Park. I think you've set the bar pretty high!
Congrats that thing is beautiful!

I've been watching your progress from the beginning without commenting, but the reason is, all I could think to say is, "WOW", and that's already been said. I do have a question about the lighting above your office.(If it was discussed, I missed it.) What kind of lights did you use for the red and green Texaco back lighting and could you show a close up of how you done it?

SO sweet.

Suggestion: Ryan should add a forum with JUST pictures of Garage Journal member projects to highlight the skills of some of the members here. Have word limit like 50 or something just to describe what it is or started as. Obviously Jack’s garage goes in it, Don’s restorations projects, a few members auto, woodworking or garage building project. But just one or two nice photographs and very few words.

Well it should look amazing; it took you long enough!

It’s not as nice as I thought it’d be. :lol_hitti

All kidding aside, job well done.

Looks great, so great I’ll trade you a fancy SO tool for it. Definitely a masterpiece to be proud of. Hope you have children or grandchildren that will one day spend hours working at this bench.

Damn, I can’t believe I missed this thread until now... that is fantastic! Well at least my timing was good catching the the complete project!

I think we need a battle of the benches... Someone go tease Don Long there is a new Sheriff in town!

Seriously, that is beautiful.

BEAUTIFUL !! You should have some high quality photos taken of this bench before you start using it. It's a magazine article-worthy piece.

Hey thanks, the lighting is simply LED strips on inside of aluminum channel. I don't have any pics but a guy posted on my Texaco themed shop thread and he nailed it in a drawing

Thanks so much. I went and read about the lighting and also the whole thread. I'll have to find some of that channel.

All the little details make this a great piece of design.

Also, a question: where did you get the horizontal duplex outlets? I can't seem to find anything similar online.

That is a very impressive piece of fabrication! I only see one little bitty problem - it is too pretty to use!
